Cast your eyes heavenwards tonight!

lunar eclipse
Tonight's lunar eclipse begins at 2018 GMT, with the Moon totally immersed in the shadow of the Earth between 2244 and 2358 GMT. The next to be seen over western Europe will take place on 21 February 2008, but in the middle of the night between 0300 GMT and 0400 GMT. (BBC Report)

It's very cloudy outside so I suspect I won't be seeing it. Damn!

I will most certainly check it out. I wish I had a good camera for cool stuff.
BTW, you've been tagged, only because I'm interested in your answers, ok?
Mwah!

Can't see a thing through the clouds (although it was clearer earlier, dammit!)

Love your artist's impression, though.

Its pretty clear where I am, I'm impatient though. Want to see it all now, or at least on fast forward.

Thanks for visiting my blog by the way. I know the archive has gone, but i plan on re-populating it with all new self-indulgent ramblings, so please stop by again!

babs: You have my answers. I hope you don't think any less of me now. :-)

qenny: It was clear here in Amsterdam. I watched it for most of the darkening period and resisted entering a bar until it had completely 'disappeared'. Eclipses always remind me of childhood books. Enid Blyton, Sir Rider Haggard and Tintin.

beth: The waiting was a bit tedious but was worth it in the end. I'll definitely stop by your way again.

Actually, I didn't look properly when I made my earlier comment. It was very clear here in London. I went out for a walk the better to appreciate it. I'm told that it was very clear in Scotland, too, which would have made my mum very happy - she loves observing astronomical phenomena every since seeing a UFO as a child. Allegedly.

Slept through it. In fact, it wasn't until I looked at BBC online the next morning that I realised it had even happened. Ariel, ambling through life, oblivious.
