I'm still around

Not that any of you would know it, but I'm actually still around.

The weather is cooler so that excuse is no longer valid when it comes to not blogging but the rest still are. Also, the broadband connection in my flat, one I received free courtesy of the bar/club downstairs, has stopped working. Well, I'm sure that it still works but they've probably restricted their wifi broadcast area after noticing the heavy traffic (mostly downloads) they were getting from an unknown source.

There are quite a few snippets of news that I should be revealing (eg the hammer epispode) and I'll get to them eventually. Most of them aren't that interesting but I did go for a job interview in Potter's Bar for a position on the Isle of Man.

I didn't get the job which was annoying but it meant that I didn't have to face the agonising decision of whether to accept it or not. It would have meant a huge increase in salary but I'd not have relished moving to a wet, boring island in the middle of the Irish sea. Strangely enough, South Africans on the Isle of Man are in the news at the moment.

If you haven't already, read the article and see how some South Africans still deserve to be greeted with 'I've never met a nice South African'. And the guy's a bloody pastor, would you believe?

Anyway, thanks for all the sweet comments and concerns about my well-being. Normal services will resume eventually.

So glad that normal services will be resuming.

I enjoyed several family holidays on the Isle of Man. It was back in the days when the legal punishment for even being gay was a court-sanctioned caning, although at the time I was far to young to be getting up to anything that would put me in line for such treatment. Thankfully.

the isle of wight is gorgeous but living there would probably get rather boring after a while. and then the nearest big town is Southampton and we all know what a shit town that is...
so are you currently job hunting? me too! :D Good luck!

Nyasha love, you're ocnfusing the Isle of Man with the Isle of Wight (which is indeed near Southampton). One of them is a tax haven with its own language and a fondness for birching as Quenny points out - but the other is far more sedate and full of retired people.

The only South Africans I know *are* nice. (Did I earn any points?) There's a blogger who lives in Potter's Bar: Older But No Wiser (or is that Older But Growing?). Andy in any case. Too bad about the Manx job.

Rhino75, OMG you are right! I can't even read properly!!! :) that is what lack of coffee does to my grey matter! I was ready to go on about the Needle, Cows, Newport etc... The isle of Man is in the middle of no man's land! Merci pour le rappel!

So Glad you're still with us.

I'll be patient, sitting quietly in the corner, waiting for The Hammer Story. Or any old story of yours, I'm sure.
