Too busy?

too crowdedI had fun making this new 'wallpaper' but does it make the page look too busy?

The original format makes for a clean, simple interface that is easy on the eye but it seems a bit boring to me. A more subtle background may be a better idea than this repeating collage.

I'll go back to the old format if you think it's too busy while I think of something less assaulting on the senses.

But, if it isn't judged to be busy, perhaps the background colour to the text should be changed to be a bit more in tune with the wallpaper? Perhaps a sepia-ish colour so that the contrast isn't so great?

I don't think it to be 'busy'. you keep it clean where the writing goes, and nothing moves around, which is hard on the eyes for focus. i use fire fox for my browsser, not internet explorer... so your side bar sits at the bottom of the page. Doesn't do that in internet explorer though, so maybe a little link saying your page is best viewed in IE would be a good add on?

Some nice changes. What about toning the background to just greyscale and maybe fading it out a bit if you want to keep it but have it look less busy?

i like the background, it reminds me of a "Safari" feel. maybe your text area/fonts can be a bit more cremey, to match he old map feel.

it's pretty.

Take the opacity of the background way down, introduce some of the yellows/creams/sepia's into the rest of your design. In Firefox your blog falls apart (and I only use Firefox), with the post area too small now, and the sidebar section now only comes up at the bottom of the page - maybe something in your CSS?

Hey RN. Love the background. Well done. It looks very cool. Hope you had a great weekend. Have a super cool day. CTG. :-)

I think its cool, but the sidebar from my browser (Firefox) is pushed all the way down to the bottom of the page.

I'm having issues similar to yours at this very moment.

Thanks for all those comments. All valid points.

Have just downloaded firefox and see what you mean. Christopher, it, probably has something to do with my CSS but I am a total novice with such things and don't really know what to do aobut it. Will have a fiddle around to see if I can rectify it and, if not, revert to the old format until I do sort it out.

Portuguese, which issues are you referring to? Being away from home or fiddling with your blog look?

Ah I like it! Doesn't look too busy as long as the text is clear. The only thing I would change is the color of your post titles to a color reminding the maps.
Regarding your side bar, I had the same problem with my side bar and finally managed to fix it after contacting the guys who created my blogger template. I simply used the url on my html page to get in touch with them.

Ok, changes have been made and I know it works with firefox now.

Any further comments/criticisms/suggestions?

Not really sure why I went for these colours when I prefer BLUE!!! :-)

LOL Nomad!

Posts titles would look awesome in a medium sage green color!

just a suggestion.

It's not that difficult to fiddle around with once you get the hang of it.

I may still lighten the background so that it's not so in your face.

I like it!! I use Firefox at home but didn't seem to have any problems viewing it. I think you're right though, you should "fade" the wallpaper a little for a more subtle effect.

Oh, that's weird - I'm normally very anti-tiled backgrounds, but this one works very well. It's... different, and different is good.
