Five thousand on the fifth of January 2006

At some point yesterday, on 5th January 2006, this blog, a week older than four months old, was subjected to its 5000th hit. 5000 is a rather auspicious number in the athletics world and in the world of the New Testament so it really should be celebrated.

Prince Charles and Camilla are visiting the Guildhall here in Northampton today.

Congrats Nomad!

Content always draws in the people. I guess that's why it's taken me over a hear to get a few thousand... cause I suck :(

But I have changed the stat counter several times since it's inception, so I dunno!

Anyway, don't burn out!

Yes, give the Cornwalls a wave. We're doing that visit and you'll find a couple of our lot in the entourage.
I am co-ordinating back here in the office. ie telling stupid journalists that, no they're too late to join the press pack)

Rob: It has nothing to do with your content, I'm sure! And, anyway, I'm sure you suck very nicely! :-)

Miss Mish:I thought they'd come this way to give me a wave and a pat on the back?

As a lifelong athletics fan I am still at a loss to see why 5000 is such an auspicious number within the sport. Please tell ...

Congratulations! Did the royal couple make it to Northampton to celebrate your blog? AMAZING!
By the way is there a prize for the 6,000th visitor? Free carrot cake, win your weight in biltong, I don't know, something...? Give us a reason to stalk this blog again!;-)

Yes, they made the effort, sweet darling things!

You want an edible prize? I'm edible you know! ;-)

There may be a small prize for 6000 but for the BIG prize you'll have to wait until 10000.

Congratulations on reaching 5000 ... I think your site is one of the best ... great content and a great layout.

Thanks, justin, your compliments are greatly appreciated. Not so sure I agree with you on the layout, however, it's very 'conventional' and, I suppose, traditional in its approach.
